A new season

Updated

We’re in a new season, and for us at Tin House it really is a new season.

If you’re a regular you will probably have heard a few bits and pieces around the future of our shop. Some of it closer to the truth than others.

So, it’s only fair that we let you in to what we have planned, and why we’re making these changes.

Firstly, thank you to everyone who supports us already, by coming in for a coffee and chatting to us. We are immensely proud of where we’ve come, and our reliable sources tell us that our coffee is the best in town. The problem is the cost of running the shop as it is – including a full rates bill every year – has become way too much, meaning that we’re not able to donate what we would like to the causes we support.

If we’re honest, closing did cross our mind. But, we love Portadown and more than ever, we want to serve the community in a unique way.

Coffee

So this is our new Tin House. We’re still serving coffee and tea, though it’ll be in the form of a pay-what-you-want fresh filter coffee from our friends at Ristretto.

Community

Upstairs will be our community hub. You can still hang out here, do some work, meet friends, plug into the free internet. We’ve got lots of plans for the space.

Causes

Downstairs will be a more dramatic change where you can buy clearance items we’ve carefully chosen, but whose profits will go towards causes at home and abroad that are close to our hearts.

Ultimately, this won’t work without you! And we’re excited to see how it will evolve. Please chat to us and let us know your ideas.

Thank you for your continued support.

Together, we can do this!

Love from your friends at Tin House
